The paddocks are constructed with 5" treated timber round posts and
concrete based straining posts at specific corners. 3 strands of
high tensile plain wire form the perimeter of paddocked area and this
is topped with 20 ml high visibility electrified tape suspended on
extended insulators. The electric fencer itself is housed in a locked
workshop in the yard and power to the circuit can be controlled by a
series of crocodile clips around the enclosures.
Internal divisions between the paddocks are constructed with 3"/4"
posts, again strung with 20 mm electrified tape. This provides
flexibility of access for various treatments of the paddocks such as
topping, mowing etc.
Each paddock is supplied with its own water trough, providing a constant supply to all animals.
Access to the paddocks is by way of hard tracks and treated larch gates.
Each paddock is assigned to a specific client, who is responsible for
its day to day maintenance. Seasonal management - topping and
weed control - is the responsibility of the management.
Generally, the paddocks are occupied throughout the year, although in
particularly inclement weather, the management reserves the right to
restrict access.
